The salt workshop is a family affair. In 2013, Gilles Morel asked his nephew Matthieu Le Chantoux if he wanted to become a salt worker. This was the beginning of the adventure.
They settled as independent salt workers in the salt marshes of Guérande, particularly in the magnificent Mès basin. Together, they operated 46 carnations or crystallizers.
Climate change has a significant impact on our business and salt production. Faced with this uncertainty, in 2018 they decided to also purchase salt from other independent salt workers selected for our shared values and the quality of their work.
That same year, they innovated by installing solar panels to
reproduce the effect of the marsh for the production of dried Guérande PGI salt and
ground or fine Guérande PGI salt.
In 2020 and in anticipation of Gilles' departure, Hugues Martineau, Matthieu's cousin, joined the farm to continue the adventure.
We are proud to offer you a completely natural product harvested using ancestral methods that respect our environment.
