VARIETTE is a company committed to promoting the flavor of cultivated biodiversity, to the rehabilitation of heirloom varieties grown from traditional seeds, and to offering organic, healthy, nutritious, natural, and delicious products within a plant-based supply chain originating in Gers and Occitanie, from seed to cultivation to the final product.
Farmers, market gardeners, organic growers and beyond who maintain and renew cultivated biodiversity by growing old, landrace or peasant varieties on their land, from non-hybrid F1 seeds, reproducible from artisan seed producers* or selected from their own harvest.
*Organic seed producers, defenders of cultivated biodiversity, offer a 100% organic catalogue and natural “open pollinating” seeds, not F1 hybrids. They select seeds from their own crops or those of partner seed growers, which they then resell in bags.

A smooth, sweet, pink beetroot hummus, made with old-fashioned Detroit round beetroot from the Southwest, and 100% natural organic ingredients. Use as a dip for breadsticks or raw vegetables, spread on a piece of bread or in a sandwich, or as a culinary accompaniment for pasta, rice, vegetables, raw vegetables, pie crusts, eggs, meat or fish.
The Detroit Red Beet, also known as Detroit Round, is an old, round, slightly oval, early-maturing variety prized for its fine, dark red, tender, and sweet flesh, rich in juice, and with excellent storage qualities. It originates from the United States.
We are thrilled to now be importing the delicious products of Anne Dubarry at Variette in the Gers (South West France).
Anne makes some of the best vegetable-based sauces and spreads that we have ever tasted. She sources old and forgotten varietals of vegetables and grains from local growers and creates beautiful products that she preserves in jars.
The range includes bright and colourful tomato sauces, hummus, pesto, einkorn and chickpeas. These are some seriously nutritious products that are bursting with flavour.
